Brow Lamination / Brow Lift – All You Need To Know

You may have heard of the new hot trend of “brow lifts”, “soap brows”, “eyebrow perms”, or brow lamination! Of course, with any hot new trend our downtown Vancouver salon is the first to hop on it and see what the fuss is all about, and we can tell you with confidence – we absolutely love it!

As you can tell by the photos, the brow lamination shapes the brows in place in an upwards motion, making them look smooth and shiny (say goodbye to that everyday eyebrow gel!).

Looking at the picture on the right, the client has very sparse looking hairs on her brows. Not only did the brow lamination lift up her brows and set them in place, each and every brow lamination package also comes with a tint… and just for an extra $10, get an eyebrow shape as well. The ultimate brow combo… lamination, brow shaping, and brow tint!

Now how does a brow lamination actually work?

Your technician will apply a solution to lift up your brow hairs. Next, they are brushed upwards to help pull them in a vertical direction. Third, they will apply a neutralizer to seal your brows into place. And of course, they will apply a nourishing oil to hydrate your brows and your skin after the procedure.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure takes no longer than an hour! That’s right! Just one hour for perfect, lifted brows.

How long will results last?

Results last 6-8 weeks.

How much will it cost?

Introducing HapaBomb products at Prép Beauty Parlour in Vancouver

Introducing the HapaBomb kids (Formerly known as the Bath Bomb Kids), Emia, Aria and Kaia! Taking from their parents business skills, Jay and Mika (the owners of Prép Beauty Parlour) these two girls have started their bath bomb business when they were just 4 and 6 years old. Every pedicure is handmade with love using only natural ingredients!

If you’ve ever gotten a pedicure at Prép Beauty Parlour you’ve noticed that every pedicure gets a bath bomb… yes, these are one of the custom made, handmade bath bombs made from these little entrepreneurial girls!

Even better, the girls do custom orders and have 3 different sizes of bath bombs.

How much do they cost?

If you book a pedicure at Prép Beauty Parlour, a bath bomb is included in every service but to buy a bath bomb separately they cost $3.50 for small, $4.50 for medium and $5.50 for large!

Microblading special! Prép Beauty Parlour

Already spend too much time getting ready in the morning? Makeup feeling like a hassle? Brows definitely do shape the face and are you finding yourself spending too long on them in the mornings? Tired of filling in your eyebrows everyday? Cut a significant portion of time out of your morning routine by getting your brows microbladed!

What is microblading?

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent brow tattooing. But don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt!

How is microblading different than a tattoo?

Microblading uses tiny fine point needles to create hair like strokes to create a realistic look instead of using a tattoo gun. This also means that it is semi-permanent and you don’t have to be “stuck” with the same brows forever! (for those that are a bit nervous). Unlike tattooing, it’s just on the surface on the skin and will fade in around 18 months without any touch-ups.

Does it hurt?

Nope! We use a numbing treatment at the beginning of your appointment so you won’t feel any pain during the appointment.

How long does microblading last?

About 18 months. You’ll need to come back every 6 months or so after for touch-ups to upkeep your brows.

Coffin, almond, what do nail shapes mean?! | Prép Beauty Parlour

Whether you’re a regular at manicures or are looking for nail inspiration on instagram, you’ve probably heard the terms… coffin nails, almond nails, stiletto nails and more… but what if you’re not fully immersed in the world of beauty (or even if you are!) it can be confusing to keep up with all the new trends and know the meanings to all these words. Here is a little cheat sheet you can use to show your nail technician for you next appointment, use as some nail inspiration, or just to learn a little more!

What are terms like coffin nails, almond nails and stiletto nails even referring to?

These are all describing the shape of the nail! At Prép we work with gel extensions, and after your nail technician has crafted the extension she can now shape the nail to whatever suits your preferences.

Stiletto nails

Stiletto nails are very fierce! They are typically long and pointy… looking something similar to this gel extension set done by Kiyomi! Stiletto’s are a shape that you do need to have long nails for, so most ladies usually get their gel extensions shaped like this and it is less common for your natural nails to be shaped this way! (Unless you have very long and strong natural nails!).

Coffin nails or Ballerina nails

Coffin/ ballerina nails are Kylie Jenner’s signature nail style and by far the most popular shape! They slightly squared but tapered at the ends which elongates your hands and makes them look longer. They also add some extra room for nail art, if that’s your thing!

Almond nails

Almond nails are also quite popular and they resemble what they sound like… almonds! This shape is more rounded compared to the coffin nails (and especially compared to the stiletto nails) but are still tapered at the end unlike “rounded nails” (that’s coming up!).  Almond nails look more natural and don’t require super long nails… you still need some length but you can wear them on your natural nails!

Square nails

 

Square nails look exactly how they sound like… square! They are the same as coffin nails, except they aren’t tapered at the ends.

Round nails

Rounded nails are the most natural nail shape you can get! They work perfectly with either long nails or short nails, on gel extensions or on natural nails.
