Our cozy studio has plush King sized pedicure chairs perfect for relaxing in, and you can always enjoy a fresh hot Nespresso as well as a selection of tasty treats with your service. We are also always stocked with the latest magazines and new products to test while you’re getting prépped and pampered!

Whether you’re in for an Express Mani or a deluxe Prép pedicure, nail art is always an option. Starting at $5, (priced by technicians) you can work with your artist to come up with a design! You can also bring in pictures/ideas of other work you’ve seen and our technicians will do their absolute best to try and recreate it! When booking an appointment, be sure to notify us that you would like to add nail art to your service so we can ensure you are booked correctly and get ample time for your nails.

We carry a wide selection of nail “bling” such as Swarovski crystals and authentic Alley Kat nail jewelry. Christian Louboutin designer nail varnish in classic Louboutin red is available upon request. Prép also just introduced new “mood” colour changing nail polishes! Blue Hues: LimeCrime Liquid Liner Review

A while back we published a blog on current spring beauty trends, one of them being the return of 70’s inspired blue eye makeup. We decided to have some fun and try out our own rendition of the look as well as review the popular liquid liner formula from Lime Crime Cosmetics. Here’s how it went!

Mika had previously purchased Lime Crime Liquid Liner in “Blue Milk” and hadn’t tried it yet, so instead of using the Nars product mentioned in our spring beauty trend blog we went with something new. I had been eager to try out this look for a while, and the added bonus of using Lime Crime for the first time made this a super fun experience. That morning, I had washed my face as per my usual routine of a daily oil free exfoliant and Eminences Clear Skin Moisturizer (available at Prép).

For my face, we wanted to keep it pretty simple as the focus was the eyes. I am pretty fair so we had to fake a bit of a tan to draw out the depth of the blue. Mika corrected my skin tone with the Stila Color Correcting Palette using a damp Beauty Blender. I love how easy correcting with cream pigment is with the Beauty Blender! She patted in some Youngblood tinted moisturizer as well as added a couple swipes of Becca Cosmetics Champagne Pop Highlighter. My brows were tamed with a few expert strokes of Benefits Gimme Brow. A light dusting of Laura Mercier setting powder finished my face.

Once I was bronzed to perfection, Mika used some nice brown Burberry shades for my eyelids before she applied the liner. The brush we found to be not the best quality for application, so Mika ended up using a normal angle brush. The liner went on a little thin but dried pretty fast so we were able to build it up to a perfect intensity and the matte finish popped drastically against the browns. I ended up wearing the liner for the duration of the day and was pleasantly surprised that by 10pm the liner was still just as intense and precise as it was when it was just done. I really enjoyed using Blue Milk and it is a colour I will definitely invest in for myself. I am also curious about trying more of the Lime Crime products! We know that spring can be a tricky time when it comes to your skin. The transitioning weather and blooming plant life can really take a toll on the skins appearance and leave you wondering why your normal skin regime isn’t doing its job. Its typical to experience a little drynes or over production of oil in the T- Zone. Many people also experience acne breakouts around hairlines due to the warming weather and increased perspiration.

One of our must haves to fight off spring skin woes is Eminences Stone Crop Gel Wash! This lightweight gel cleanser is a perfect solution to washing away all impurities without drying out the skin, and can be used by people with even the most sensitive of complexions. The oil free formula works to balance skin tone and minimize blemishes and scarring. We love how cool and refreshing a good lather with this gel leaves the skin!

How To Use:
– Dispense a small amount (pea sized) into hands and dilute with water
– Apply to skin and massage in using small circular motions, being sure to cover all the face and neck. Massage for 1-3 minutes.
– Remove with a warm damp face cloth and finish with a spritz of Eminences Stone Crop Hydrating Mist.

The Selfie- Revolutionized at Prép Beauty Parlour with NEW Glamcor Pro Makeup Lights

We’ve all witnessed someone walk around with the dreaded line of poorly blended foundation caked onto their face. Or seen a contour so obvious and sad our soul cries a little. Luckily, those days are numbered (or at least we hope), as innovative lighting company Glamcor has the perfect solution!!

The key to flawless makeup application is colour temperature! Many people live their normal lives, applying makeup on a day to day basis, and are not aware of this essential rule. Colour temperature is a characteristic of visible light that is extremely important for lighting, photography, videography, and makeup application. It is measured in units called Kelvins (K).
Colour temperature that is measured over 5,000K are “cool”, and tends to have a blueish white hue.
Colour temperature that measures between 2,700K – 3,000K is warm.

Glamcor has taken the understanding of colour temperature and created a line of professional grade lighting equipment designed to aid in the colour matching and fine detail work that goes along with the makeup industry. The line includes various lights that are easy to transport, compact, durable, and easy to use. Prép couldn’t resist all the hype and had to try one out ourselves!

The Glamcor line has many different styles of lights to choose from, we went with one that would fit in Préps makeup station and lash area. Versatility is essential at our busy spa! We chose the newly released Multimedia Extreme with Selfie function. The kit itself includes 2 large lighting panels connected to the freestanding telescopic base with flexible arms (an added bonus for lighting from different angles), remote control with Bluetooth function, and a travel case. Depending on what you use it for, there are also many different add on accessories to build up your Glamcor kit. Some accessories include a clip on mirror, bases for your tablet, phone, or camera, and even clamps for hard to reach surfaces!

Our light has awesome adjustable light settings, with a standard setting on 5,600K. Users are able to use the extensive list of options to find the perfect light balance to suit any situation. The lighting panels are made up of mini ultra HD LED bulbs that are flicker free and don’t heat up, making set up and take down simple with no wait time! The lightweight aluminum tripod stand slides smoothly and can expand to over 6ft.
