We know that spring can be a tricky time when it comes to your skin. The transitioning weather and blooming plant life can really take a toll on the skins appearance and leave you wondering why your normal skin regime isn’t doing its job. Its typical to experience a little drynes or over production of oil in the T- Zone. Many people also experience acne breakouts around hairlines due to the warming weather and increased perspiration.

One of our must haves to fight off spring skin woes is Eminences Stone Crop Gel Wash! This lightweight gel cleanser is a perfect solution to washing away all impurities without drying out the skin, and can be used by people with even the most sensitive of complexions. The oil free formula works to balance skin tone and minimize blemishes and scarring. We love how cool and refreshing a good lather with this gel leaves the skin!

How To Use:
–  Dispense a small amount (pea sized) into hands and dilute with water
– Apply to skin and massage in using small circular motions, being sure to cover all the face and neck. Massage for 1-3 minutes.
– Remove with a warm damp face cloth and finish with a spritz of Eminences Stone Crop Hydrating Mist.

What Is A Bridal Trial?
A bridal trial is a consultation appointment with your hair/makeup artist, typically scheduled in the months before the wedding. They will go over what styles and looks you have envisioned, and bring them to life on you so you can ensure you will look your absolute best on your big day. Most trials run from about an hour and a half to two hours, and usually allow you to see a couple different looks on yourself before choose what you like best. At Prép, all of our bridal packages include trials, as well as standard strip lashes (can be upgraded to premium Esqido mink lashes) and a bridal touch up kit for your wedding day.

Having a destination wedding, or a mountain top soiree? No worries, we can come to you! All of our hair & makeup services are available on location (deposit required). A pre determined travel fee based on the area we will send our artists to is added to your total, as well as any applicable parking fees. Booking that start before 7:00AM are subject to early morning fees (per artist). **

The BrushEgg: Why You NEED This In Your Easter Basket

Easter is just around the corner- Literally!! Why not leave a trail of these handy little tools and save the chocolate for yourself 😉

The BrushEgg is a fun and compact tool that is easy to transport and makes cleaning makeup brushes a breeze! Sadly, a large percentage of people don’t clean their makeup brushes properly or on a regular basis, and by not doing so this causes bacteria to build up, collecting oil, dust, leftover makeup, dirt, and dead skin particles trapped in the brushes. Every time you use a dirty brush, you are putting all of the buildup back onto your face. This doesn’t help your skin at all either. All of these factors can cause your makeup bristles to dry out and become brittle, as well as give you extreme acne breakouts and puts you at risk of developing allergies or sensitivities to products! Remember the importance of proper hygiene and cleanliness to avoid making any of these mistakes and start cleaning your brushes after each use!

The BrushEgg is made of a silky soft and durable silicone and is available at Prép in 3 different colours (Mint, Purple, Pink). It has smaller knobs on the top and grooves on the bottom. The smaller knobs are used for foaming and lathering soap and water into your brushes. The bottom grooves are used to agitate the bristles and remove dirt, oil, and product.  For just $9.95, it’s a no brainer investment that will probably be used almost as often as your brushes… or at least it should!

How To Use:

  1. Pump out a nickel size amount of gentle shampoo or natural body wash to the centre of your BrushEgg
  2. Wet your makeup brush and rub it around until you see the colour come through on the BrushEgg
  3. Rinse off your makeup brush, squeeze out excess water and lay on its side, or even better – hang your makeup brush upside down to dry
  4. Repeat for all makeup brushes until clean!

Delightful: This soft pink is pastel enough for Easter Sunday service, but has just enough punch to wear as a chic everyday polish. Pink looks great with all skin tones, especially warmer ones. Choose a more vibrant shade for a “just came back from Cabo” type vibe, or embellish with Swarvoski stones (available at Prép!)
FullSizeRender-2Breathless: Another pastel, this powder blue hue is a classic for spring. Jazz it up by adding a “raindrop” effect with clear sculpting gel! Perfect for the endless Vancouver rain. Using a mattifying top coat can also create a velvety finish, a unique effect on a colour such as this.
