First time getting lash extensions? Don’t worry here are the do’s & don’ts of eyelash after care for classic, mixed &IMG_4778 copy Russian volume/ 3D lashes!

 

Prép For Appointment:  Please remove all makeup before arriving to your appointment, we understand some clients may be coming straight from work.. which is perfectly okay! In this case you may need to arrive a few minutes early for us to help you remove your makeup to prepare for the lash appointment. Limiting your caffeine/ sugar intake before hand insures a relaxing and comfortable experience. If you like to shower/ wash your hair each day we ask you please do this before your appointment as you cannot get your lashes wet for a minimum of 24 hours.

 

After Care:  The lashes can not get wet for 24 hours minimum so we do ask that you shower before hand if needed. Oil is a big no no for lashes… if you must wear mascara with your lashes please make sure the mascara you are using is water based, we offer Belvada; the best water based mascara for your lashes! Plan on traveling, exercising frequently or living in a humid climate? IntelliSeal Eyelash Sealer is perfect for your classic lashes, it blocks fumes while drying agents cure the adhesive to it’s fullest potential. Try not to rub your eyes or tug on your lashes too much as it may make your natural lashes fall out prematurely, if you sleep on your stomach this may also happen. We know that spring can be a tricky time when it comes to your skin. The transitioning weather and blooming plant life can really take a toll on the skins appearance and leave you wondering why your normal skin regime isn’t doing its job. Its typical to experience a little drynes or over production of oil in the T- Zone. Many people also experience acne breakouts around hairlines due to the warming weather and increased perspiration.

One of our must haves to fight off spring skin woes is Eminences Stone Crop Gel Wash! This lightweight gel cleanser is a perfect solution to washing away all impurities without drying out the skin, and can be used by people with even the most sensitive of complexions. The oil free formula works to balance skin tone and minimize blemishes and scarring. We love how cool and refreshing a good lather with this gel leaves the skin!

How To Use:
–  Dispense a small amount (pea sized) into hands and dilute with water
– Apply to skin and massage in using small circular motions, being sure to cover all the face and neck. Massage for 1-3 minutes.
– Remove with a warm damp face cloth and finish with a spritz of Eminences Stone Crop Hydrating Mist.

What Is A Bridal Trial?
A bridal trial is a consultation appointment with your hair/makeup artist, typically scheduled in the months before the wedding. They will go over what styles and looks you have envisioned, and bring them to life on you so you can ensure you will look your absolute best on your big day. Most trials run from about an hour and a half to two hours, and usually allow you to see a couple different looks on yourself before choose what you like best. At Prép, all of our bridal packages include trials, as well as standard strip lashes (can be upgraded to premium Esqido mink lashes) and a bridal touch up kit for your wedding day.

Having a destination wedding, or a mountain top soiree? No worries, we can come to you! All of our hair & makeup services are available on location (deposit required). A pre determined travel fee based on the area we will send our artists to is added to your total, as well as any applicable parking fees. Booking that start before 7:00AM are subject to early morning fees (per artist). **

Bridal Spotlight: Victoria Koby

On Saturday October 24th, Vancouver native Victoria Koby set out into the streets of Yaletown on a mission to wed fiancé Carter Selmes . The day was shaping up to be slightly overcast, with the sun glowing through the clouds. Carter and Victoria met in 2010 through friends at the popular Cactus Club location in Yaletown. Victoria had just moved back from Montreal, and a few months later the pair began dating.
Victoria Koby #1 Victoria Koby #75 years later, the very much in love couple chose one of Vancouvers most vibrant and trendy areas to tie the knot. Yaletowns boho-chic feel is brought together by a breathtaking mix of modern and vintage architecture, unique boutiques, and some of the cities best food! Gorgeous views of False Creek and remnants of the areas railway history created a cozy and romantic atmosphere, the perfect location for these two lovebirds.

The bridal party got ready at the popular Vancouver Opus Hotel, where Prép Beauty Team members Candice and Lisa prépped the ladies for the big day. Lisa kept Victorias makeup simple and stunning. Light pink hues and bronzed cheeks with a sweet but sexy champagne shimmer drew out Victorias eyes and created gorgeous cutting cheek bones in contrast. Her hair was done by Megan Thomas, placed into a simple and fun half up half down do’ that lasted late into the night. The bridesmaids wore simple midnight blue and white gowns. Victorias unique and totally adorable dress is by Truvelle, a wedding gown company based out of Gastown, Vancouver.

Bridal Spotlight: Ashton McQueen

On Saturday, August 8th 2015, Ashton McQueen gathered with her friends and family at the Burnaby Mountain Rose Garden View More: http://ashley-durance-photo.pass.us/ashton-and-zachto celebrate the joining of 2 beautiful souls and the beginning of a blissful and exciting marriage. Ashton wed long time boyfriend, Port Coquitlam realtor Zach Pugh.

The pair are madly in love. Ashton has always had a fancy for Zach, and thought he was extremely attractive long before they started dating. When they met, their connection was instant and the two have been inseparable ever since. For the past 7 years, they’ve travelled the world together, while keeping their Port Coquitlam condo a home with their 2 cats.

Ashton chose some of Préps best artists to pamper her on her special day, and even had one of our master eyelash technicians, Alisha, as one of her bridesmaids! Ashton and Alisha have been besties for ever. The bridesmaids wore one shoulder soft pink tea length dresses with a flirty twist in the front. The light colour contrasted nicely with their off-white bouquets.

The look was tied together beautifully with Ashtons lace veil.

Ashton chose a gorgeous classic white form fitting off-the-shoulder gown from La Sposa Bridal in New Westminister. The all over lace added a touch of vintage, and harmonized perfectly with the sweeping train that lightly trailed from behind her. She truly was a vision in white!

The rose garden was the perfect backdrop for Ashton and Zachs ceremony. Their wedding photos, shot by Vancouver Photographer Ashley Durance, were brought to life with the vibrant colours of the garden and the pairs obvious chemistry. Their reception was held the the SFU Diamond Alumni Center, where guests enjoyed good food and music while celebrating the couple.
