If you've been researching lash lifts in Vancouver, you've probably come across two names more than any other: YUMI Keratin and InLei Lash Filler®. Both are premium lash lift systems. Both are popular in top studios around the world. And at Prép Beauty Parlour on Burrard Street, we offer both — which means we get this question from clients every single day.
So here's an honest breakdown of YUMI vs. InLei: what each system does, who it works best for, and how to decide which one belongs on your lashes.
What Is a Lash Lift?
Before we compare, a quick recap. A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that curls your natural lashes from the root using a chemical lifting process — no glue, no extensions, no daily curling required. The result is visibly longer-looking, wide-open lashes that last weeks without any maintenance.
A lash tint is almost always added at the end to darken and define your lashes, removing the need for mascara.
YUMI Keratin Lash Lift: The Gold Standard
Origin: France
Formula: Keratin-infused lifting system
Duration: 75 minutes
Lasts: 8–12 weeks
YUMI is widely considered the gold standard of lash lifts. Developed in France, the YUMI system uses a keratin-enriched formula that doesn't just lift your lashes — it simultaneously conditions and strengthens them. Many clients notice their lashes feel healthier after YUMI than before the appointment.
YUMI works on all lash types, but it's especially effective on:
Straight or downward-pointing lashes that need maximum lift
Lashes that are naturally long but lack visible curl
Clients who want the most dramatic, long-lasting result
At Prép, every lash artist is YUMI certified. If you want to learn more about the YUMI system specifically, we have a dedicated resource at yumilashliftvancouver.ca.
InLei Lash Filler®: The Gentle Alternative
Origin: Italy
Formula: Filler + conditioning complex
Duration: 75 minutes
Lasts: 6–8 weeks
InLei Lash Filler® is made in Italy and takes a different approach: rather than just lifting, the filler formula adds volume and nourishment to each lash as it works. Think of it as a lifting treatment and a conditioning treatment in one.
InLei is the better choice for:
Fine, fragile, or over-processed lashes
Clients with sensitive eyes or skin
Anyone who's had a lash lift before and found it slightly drying
Lashes that need gentle encouragement rather than a dramatic lift
The result with InLei is a softer, more natural curl — still beautifully lifted, but with a gentle, fanned-out finish rather than the high-impact lift of YUMI.
YUMI vs. InLei: Side by Side
YUMI Keratin: French origin · Keratin-infused formula · Best for all lash types · High-impact, dramatic lift · Lasts 8–12 weeks · $150 at Prép
InLei Lash Filler®: Italian origin · Filler + conditioning formula · Best for fine/fragile lashes · Soft, natural lift · Lasts 6–8 weeks · $125 at Prép
Which Should You Choose?
Choose YUMI if: You want the strongest lift, the longest-lasting result, and your lashes are in good condition. YUMI is our most popular treatment for a reason.
Choose InLei if: Your lashes are on the finer or more fragile side, you have sensitive eyes, or you want a softer, more natural-looking curl.
Not sure? That's what the consultation at the start of every appointment is for. Your lash artist will assess your lashes and help you pick the right system — no pressure, no upsell.
